Mary Beale

March 11, 1925 — January 2, 2018

Mary Frances Holden Beale, 92, passed away at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on Thursday, February 1, 2018.    She was born on November 3, 1925 in Johnson City, Tenn., a daughter of the late James C. Holden and Mary Sproles Holden.    Mary was a graduate of Science Hill High School and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.    In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her husband, Harold Lee Beale; four children, Janice Beale Emerson, Kathy Beale Flora, Charles Holden Beale, and Harold Lee Beale, Jr.; three brothers, Richard F. Holden, James C. Holden, Jr. and Harry Holden; and one sister, Ruth Holden Carey.    She is survived by one brother, Carroll “Jeep” Holden; three grandchildren, James W. Emerson, Jr., Kathryn Beale Flora Husmann and Matthew Beale Flora; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.    Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 5, 2018 at 2:00 PM, at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Bobbie Henley officiating. Interment will be private.    The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 PM prior to the funeral on Monday at Townes Funeral Home.    The family suggests that memorials may be made to the American Red Cross/Roanoke Chapter, 352 Church Avenue SW, Roanoke, VA 24016.
