Marion Gladys Fleming Cooper, 91, of 188 Walters Mill Rd., Providence, NC, went Home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at her residence, after a brief decline in health. Mrs. Cooper was born on June 2, 1930, in Amelia, VA, a daughter of the late Cleo Vaughn Fleming and the late Bertha Porter Fleming. She was a Graduate of Schoolfield High School, Class of 1948. For over seventy years she worked as a clerk for a number of companies in the trucking industry. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed weaving baskets which she would sell at the Callands Art Festival. She had the honor of making a basket that was featured at the White House Christmas Tree, in Washington, DC. She was married to Daniel Ord Cooper, who predeceased her on December 3, 1997. She is survived by a son, Gerald Cooper and wife, Candy, of Providence, NC; and a sister, Emily Larkins, of High Point, NC. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Charles Fleming. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 2:00 PM, in Mountain View Cemetery, with the Reverend Gary Tucker officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the residence.
