VIEW MEMORIAL VIDEOMarilyn Carroll Buckner, 71, of Providence, wife of James “Buddy” A. Buckner, Jr., went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Born on November 24, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Henderson and Alease Edmond Loftis Carroll. Marilyn had many talents and loved to sew. She loved being able to care for her family and enjoyed spending her time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She was an active and lifelong member of Providence Baptist Church. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two children, James A. Buckner, III, (Marlinda), and Michelle B. Sparks, (Anthony); five grandchildren, Raymond Buckner, (Lauren), Anthony Buckner, (Amber), Allison Sparks, Donald Knaak, and Christina Busick, (Dean); five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Carroll, Jr. (Lynn), and Ronald Carroll, (Robin), and one sister, Sandra Crichton, (Linwood). The family will receive friends on Friday, December 22, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Reverend Mitch Cifers officiating. Burial will be held in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.
