Marie-Louise Van Der Griendt Crane

Marie-Louise van der Griendt Crane, 52, passed away unexpectedly Friday, April 5, 2019 at SOVAH Health Danville.    She was born June 22, 1966 , in Hellevoetsluis, The Netherlands, a daughter of Willem and Louise van der Griendt.    Marie-Louise married Donald Crane on July 21, 2000, and has been a resident of Danville since 2004.    She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, where she formerly served as an Elder, and most recently was serving as a deacon, officer of the church, member of the  Mission and Membership Committees, Saturday morning Bible Study and Lunch Program, choir and handbells.    Marie-Louise was also a member of the Wayside Garden Club, The Wednesday Club, ABC Club and was active in the annual Crop Walk.  She was also serving as a board member of the Danville Science Center    In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two brothers, Marcel van der Griendt and his wife, Angelique, and Maarten van der Griendt as well as a stepson, Micah Crane.    Funeral services will be at First Presbyterian Church on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Dr. John McDonald officiating.  Interment will be private.    The family will receive friends at the church prior to the funeral from 12:30 PM -1:45 PM.    The family suggests that memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 937 Main Street, Danville, VA 24541 or to a charity of your choice.
