Margaret Boyter

Margaret Ann Evans Boyter died Saturday at Danville Regional Medical Center after a decline in health. Before being admitted to the hospital she was a resident at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. Mrs. Boyter was born in Rockingham Co., NC on September 15, 1927, a daughter of the late George Franklin (Tony) Evans and Elizabeth Alice Hughes Evans. She was married to the James Albert Boyter who died in l955. Mrs. Boyter was a member of Timberlake Baptist Church and was retired from the U. S. Government as a buyer in the Navy Department while living in Norfolk. She retired in l987 and was one of eleven children. She loved gardening and her pet dogs. Besides her parents she is predeceased by siblings; George Lindsey Evans, Irene Spangler and Mildred Spangler. Surviving are her daughters; Patricia (Pat) Young and her husband David of Danville and Darcel (D) Boyter of Norfolk, brothers and sisters; Jack Evans, Reidsville, NC, Mary Spangler and her husband Elbert of Ruffin, NC, Betty Ballinger of Greensboro, NC, Nancy Saunders of Virginia Beach, Frances Smallwood of Greensboro, NC, Bill Evans of Florida and David Evans of Pelham, NC. Also surviving are grandchildren; Scott Young and his wife Deanna of Ringgold, Bobby Young and his wife Darlene of Charlotte, NC, Keith Allison and his wife Kelly of Danville, Crystal Lende of Norfolk and Paul Allison and his wife Ginny of Danville and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. from the Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Walter Yancey officiating. Interment will follow in the Happy Home Christian Church Cemetery in Ruffin, NC. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Monday, January 19, 2015 from 7 to 8:30 and at other times will be the residence, 1666 Mill Creek Road. In lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to Mount Cross Fire and Rescue or to Timberlake Baptist Church. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Boyter family.
