Mabel Payne Everett, 100, passed away at SOVAH Danville Regional Hospital on Saturday, November 3, 2018. She was last survivor of her immediate family. She was born on April 2, 1918 in the Whitmell community of Pittsylvania County, to the late Otis Meade Payne and Ora Wells Payne. She was married to Earl Warren Everett who predeceased her on June 20, 1991. Mabel and her husband owned and operated Green Front Service Station until their retirement. She was member of College Park Baptist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Mike Everett; six sisters, Helen Moore, Marie Fusco, Lizzie Grubb, Margaret Day, Nancy Swann, and Judy Holder; and one brother, Otis Payne, Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Jane Easome of Danville; a son, Steve Everett and his wife Jackie, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and four grandchildren, Brad Everett (Maranda), Jared Everett (Amanda), Alan Easome (Lindsey) and Ashley Keefe (Dan). Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, November 5, 2018 at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Gary Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4, at Townes Funeral Home from 7:00 to 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of her daughter, Jane Easome, 102 Dyerwood Place, Danville, VA.
