Luther Warren "The Pool Man" Boles, 79, passed away on December 2, 2022, entering the gates of Heaven of our Lord and Savior.
Warren was born on January 29, 1943 to Willie and Billie Boles. Warren graduated from Chatham High School in 1961. He loved playing baseball and as member of FFA, Warren was a state champion with tractor maneuvers.
After graduation, he worked briefly as a supervisor at Goodyear. But Warren always had a dream to own his own business. Lucky’s is a long-standing culmination of this dream. Warren was a quiet man with a kind heart. He loved his family, friends and customers. He loved hosting benefits and giving money to people in need. He could beat anyone shooting pool. Warren loved to hunt and fish, he was especially happy with a rod and reel in his hand. He taught many people in the community how to fish the Dan River and Buggs Island Lake. He would always catch enough fish to bring back to the bar and feed the crowd.
He is survived by his daughter Annette Knowles (Doug) and his son Luther Warren Boles Jr., (Tamara). Three brothers Aubrey Boles (Faye), Floyd Boles (Carolyn) and Walter Boles (Virginia). His grandchildren Kasey Rose (Hunter), Tanner Boles (Malorie), Aaron Boles, Colby Anderson (Kaci) and Grant Boles (Makayla). One great grandchild, Sawyer Rose and long-time employee Butch Witt.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday December 6, 2022 2:00pm at Townes Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00pm at Townes Funeral Home. Interment will follow the funeral service at Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gretna, VA.
