Louis Ricci Stroud, age 78, went home to be with his Lord Jesus on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina, after nearly a year of declining health. He was born to the late Stanley Stroud and Clara Stroud Cumbo on January 20, 1940, a Danville resident his entire life. On June 6, 1959, he married his sweetheart, Linda Faye Lewis, and together they raised their son, Jeff. He was a dedicated employee of Boxwood Dairy from where he retired to begin his real estate entrepreneurship. Working on his farm with his dear friend Charles, and listening to his friends play blue grass music were his favorite pastimes. Above all, though, he loved people and cherished conversation. Ricci never met a stranger! He was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church where he was thoroughly blessed by his Sunday school class, King of Kings. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Homer. He is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Linda, his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Cynthia. He is also survived by his beloved granddaughters, Alexandra and Jessica and her fiancé, Ben. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Mount Hermon Baptist Church with Reverend Lewis Harris, Reverend Steve Chromy, and Reverend Coy Young officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Stroud family.
