Lois Jean Wiles Glass, age 94 of 220 Lady Astor Place, Danville, VA, passed away August 22, 2021 at home. She was born November 8, 1926 in Ringgold, VA, the daughter of the late William Arvin Wiles and Thelma Compton Wiles. She was married to her high school sweetheart, Bruce Wallace Glass, on Feb 1, 1946. Bruce preceded her in death in October 2015. She is survived by two daughters, Jean Glass Morris and Jane Glass Gilbert both of Danville, granddaughter Elizabeth Rae Prickett (Joshua Prickett) of Aiken, SC and great-granddaughter Emmerson Grace Prickett. She was preceded in death by her sister Rachel Wiles Dalton of Danville. She is survived by three nephews, Michael Dalton (Melinda), Alan Dalton (Pat) of Danville and Ron Glass of Greensboro, NC, and two nieces, Cheryl Dalton Merricks (David) of Danville and Kathy Glass Hunt (Jerry) of Cascade, VA. She is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Dan River High School, Ringgold, VA and the Phillips Business College of Lynchburg, VA. She loved working in public and was a bookkeeper having worked for several automotive wholesale suppliers, the last being Danville Auto Supply for more than 20 years. She also worked part time at several tobacco auction warehouses during auction season. She was a member of West Main Baptist Church for over 50 years and the Friendship Sunday school class. She was a member of the Women’s Golf Association of the Danville Golf Club where she played and enjoyed competitive golf. She was a member of the Danville Duplicate and Party Bridge Clubs. She loved life, her family and friends and enjoyed watching and playing a number of sports, in particular golf and cheering for her NC State Wolfpack in college basketball. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 25, at 11 am, at West Main Baptist Church. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
