GREENSBORO, N.C. - Mrs. Lois Westbrook Eanes, formerly from Danville, VA passed away at Beacon Place Hospice of Greensboro, NC on June 21, 2019 after a brief illness. Lois was born April 30, 1927 in Spray, NC, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Nance Westbrook. She was a former member of First Christian Church in Eden, and a current member of the Life Community Church in Jamestown, NC. Lois married Paul M Eanes, Sr. on July 7, 1944 while Paul was serving in the Army during WWII. Lois and Paul had lived most of their lives in Danville prior to moving to Greensboro in 2002. Lois retired from C&P Telephone Company in Danville on July 31, 1978. Lois leaves one daughter, Gail Eanes McGuire and fiancée John DiStefano of Willow Spring, NC; one son Paul M. Eanes Jr, and wife Martha of Greensboro, NC; five grandchildren: Matthew McGuire and wife Xaymara Perez of Nashua, NH; and John McGuire and wife Catherine Bartels of Cary, NC; Joshua Eanes of Greensboro NC; Marianne Eanes Myers and husband Justin of Wallburg, NC; and Paige Eanes Conley and husband Brian of Greensboro, NC; as well as seven great grandchildren, and an extended family of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded by her husband, Paul Eanes Sr.; brothers Lloyd, Paul, Frank and Goris Westbrook; and sisters Edith Swinney, Shirley Westbrook and Daisy Parrish. A Celebration of Life visitation will be held at Townes Funeral Home in Danville, Virginia on Monday, June 24 from 1:00pm followed by a 2:00 service, to be immediately followed by a graveside service at Highland Burial Park.
