Linwood O. Wyatt of 214 Gatewood Rd. Providence, NC passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Danville Regional Medical Center. Mr. Wyatt was born in Pittsylvania County on October 22, 1933 a son of the late George Ira Wyatt and Ora Brown Wyatt. He was married for 60 years to Barbara Smith Wyatt who survives. Mr. Wyatt worked as a well driller from 1956 to 1969 and worked in the maintenance department for Caswell County Schools from 1969 until his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed listening to gospel music, riding Harley Davidson motorcycles for over 50 years, and spending time with his wife and his dog Prissy. He was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by seven brothers John, Albert, James, Wesley, George, Raymond, and Clarence Wyatt, and two sisters Virginia Hankins Gilley and Cora Wyatt Wells. Mr. Wyatt is survived by his wife Barbara Smith Wyatt of the home and a sister Mary Wyatt Davis of Danville. The family would like to thank the staff of Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center and a special thank you to Kenneth "Pinky" Smith for their care and support during his decline in health. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Townes Memorial Chapel with Reverend Adrian Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Providence, NC. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. before the funeral service.
