Lillian Evans Haymore McCann passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Mamaw, as she was affectionately called by many, was born on July 8, 1922, in West Virginia, a daughter of the late Thomas and Carrie Tate. Mamaw loved her 5 children,8 grandchildren Mitch, George, Roman, Chuck, Stacey, Mark, Kelly and Sarah, 10 great-grandchildren, friends and neighbors. She is survived by her daughter Norma Haymore Smith (Steve), sons Bill and George Evans (Patricia) and daughter in law Nancy Evans. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Jenks, and sons Danny Evans and Neal Haymore. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30 ,2014 at Blessed Hope Church with Brian Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service with a private burial to follow. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her memory to Danville Cancer Society or to the charity of your choice. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street, is serving the McCann family.
