Libby Vernon

September 9, 1930 — February 8, 2019

Elizabeth C. Vernon (Libby) of 137 Garden Grove Street died August 2, 2019.                 She was born in Danville on September 9, 1930 to Leslie McRae (Jack) Coleman and Mable Crumpton Coleman.                Libby worked for 48 years at the Belk-Leggett Co. and later at Coachman Cleaners.                She loved talking to former customers and coworkers.  She especially enjoyed her family.  We loved her too!                She was predeceased by her parents, her sisters, Margaret Hardy (Alex), Ray Holtzclaw (Darrell) of Corpus Christi, TX and brother, L. M. (Sonny) Coleman, Jr. (Rosemary).                Survivors include daughter Susan Setliff, grandsons Charlie Booth (Gabriela) of Savannah, GA, Kristopher Booth (Kelly), Adam Booth and special great-granddaughter, Sofia Booth of Savannah, GA.  Also a sister, Ginger Dalton (Johnie) and brother, Tommy Coleman (Sara) of Glen Burnie, MD and many nieces and nephews.                We would like to thank her best friend and sweetheart, Earl Anderson for the love he had for her over 50 years. Thanks for taking such good care of her.  We love you too!  Also, her 4 legged friend ”Willie”. The family will have a visitation on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 1 to  2 P.M. at Townes Funeral Home and at other times will be at the home of Susan Setliff, 644 Ferry Road.                A Memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Daryl Joyce officiating.                Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is servicing the Vernon family.  Online condolences may be directed to www.townesfuneralhome.com.
