Lewis Nichols

June 17, 1931 — August 7, 2017

Lewis Colman Nichols is survived by his soulmate of 62 years Jackie Nichols, a daughter Belinda Nichols Worsham and husband J.B. Worsham of Danville and a grandson Jesse Worsham and fiance Mollie Hall of  Danville. A sister Peggy Gibson of Danville and two sister-n-laws Rachel Sigmon and Lenora Robertson and numerous nieces and nephews..  He is predeceased by a brother Guy Nichols and a sister Margaret Apple. Lewis proudly served his country during the Korean War On the USS Saipan CVL 48 as a 1st Class Petty Officer from May 1950 to November 1957.  He worked at Dan River Mills for 22 years as a Supervisor and Retired from Miller Brewing Co.  His passion was woodworking making beautiful clocks and bowls and other wood projects. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Legion Post 325, 135 American Legion Blvd. #325, Danville, VA  24540 A Graveside Service will be at Danville Memorial Gardens at 11:00 am  Monday July 10, 2017 with  Albert Moser officiating and United States Navy Military Honors.
