Lelia (Tillie) Barbour Wentz, 92, of 145 Wentz Circle, Danville, Va., passed away on June 15, 2016 at Danville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Wentz was born July 19, 1923, in Danville, Va. to Otha Winston Barbour and Lelia Brown Barbour. She was the last surviving member of her nine siblings. She was a warm, dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was most happy when surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and lovingly providing for her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 76 years, Jerry E. Wentz, Sr.; one daughter, Jayne Wentz Blair (Les) of Danville and three sons, Jerry E. Wentz, Jr. (Phyllis) of Danville, William I. Wentz of Coconut Grove, Fl. and Thomas W. Wentz of Danville; two granddaughters, Beverly Wentz and Tammy Carter Vaughan (Donnie) and one grandson, Jerry E. Wentz, III (Robyn); one great-granddaughter, Shelby Vaughan, and three great-grandsons, Justin Wentz, Tyler Wentz and Colby Vaughan, all of Danville. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 19 at 3:00 p.m. at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Billy Scearce officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 18 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Townes Memorial Chapel. All other times the family will be at the residence at 145 Wentz Circle.
