Lee Norman

Lee Myers Norman died peacefully in Danville, Virginia, on January 4, 2019. She was born August 7, 1939 in Danville, Virginia and lovingly raised by her grandparents E.W. and Lucy Myers.  She attended Stratford College and Queens College and graduated in 1961 with a degree in Sociology. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and Director of the Day School for a number of years. She also enjoyed supporting the arts and was the Volunteer Coordinator for the Danville Museum of Fine Arts and History. However, the biggest love of her life was her family. She always said her heart was full after spending time with family. Lee is predeceased by her husband, William Sutherlin Norman III, and her brother, Charles Myers. She is survived by her brother David and his wife Patricia Myers of South Boston, VA, her children Susan and Bob Adams of Charlotte, NC,  Laura and Mike Jones of Danville, VA,  William IV and Sharon Norman, of Jefferson, GA,  Alice and Brent Saunders of Richmond, VA, eight grandchildren, Seth Norman, Macon Norman, William Norman, Emma Jones, Elliot Jones, Virginia Jones, Lucy Saunders, Nathaniel Saunders, and one great grandchild, Ledger Norman. The family would like to express their gratitude to Lee’s care givers who became like family with their love, care and dedication. A funeral will be held at 2 pm on Monday, January 7, at First Presbyterian Church, followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery. A reception will follow at the residence. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Presbyterian Church of Danville, VA, 937 Main Street, Danville, VA 24541.
