Lawrence Keith Griffith, age 61 died at his residence, 371 Seminole trail in Danville on December 17, 2013. He was born on January 16, 1952 in Danville to the late Jesse Raymond Griffith and Lois Worsham Griffith. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Patsy Baker and Margie Dishman. He graduated with honors from George Washington High School in l970. He earned a degree in English/Journalism from the College of William and Mary in l974. He obtained a law degree from Tulane University in l983 where he made the Law Review. He loved baseball and attended many New York Mets games while living in New York City. He also played Little League baseball as a child growing up in Danville. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed English and American literature. He practiced law in New York City at the firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom. He also worked in New York at a major publishing house of Law books as an editor and writer. He relocated back to Danville in 2003 and since that time has worked as an English instructor at Danville Community College. He is survived by three brothers, Gene R. Griffith of Danville, Willliam D. Griffith of North Chesterfield, VA and Donald P. Griffith of Eagle River, Alaska; two sisters, Elaine Lea of Danville and Rebecca Faye Lustig of Honolulu, Hawaii. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Griffith family.
