Katherine Keeling See of Danville, Virginia died peacefully on Monday, December 12, 2022 after a brief illness.
Born May 23, 1946, in Danville, VA, she was the daughter of Charles Wilson Keeling, Jr. and Lily (Bitsy) Harris Keeling. She was the wife of Thomas French See, whom she married on December 30, 1967.
Katherine graduated from George Washington High School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from The College of William and Mary. She began her teaching career in Danville at Schoolfield Elementary. After 14 years as a stay-at-home mother, she resumed her teaching career in Westminster, Maryland where she resided with her family. She worked for Carroll County Public Schools for 22 years. In 2006, she returned to Danville with her husband where she enjoyed her retirement filled with reading, travelling, and reconnecting with childhood friends. Katherine was especially proud of her children and five grandchildren.
Katherine was a lifelong Episcopalian. While in Westminster, she was a member of the Maple Crest Homemakers Club. In Danville, she was a member of The Wednesday Club and Shakespeare Study Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Judith and Patrick Boldosser of Westminster, MD; daughter Katy Jones of Danville, VA; brother and sister-in-law Willard (Bud) and Earlene Keeling of Staunton, VA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Edward and Carolyn See of Great Falls, VA; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, December 22, 2022 at The Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Danville, VA. Memorials may be directed to The Wednesday Club General Fund or Danville Pittsylvania Cancer Association.
