Judith Yeaman

October 2, 1943 — January 28, 2014

Judith Lee Hundley Yeaman passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. After a 3 month battle with leukemia, she went home to be with the Lord. She was born on February 10, 1943, a daughter of Malcolm and Clarice Brumfield Hundley. She was predeceased by her father Malcolm and her sister Brenda Pobol. Judy graduated from George Washington High School in 1962 and went to work for Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company. In 1965, she went to work for GWHS as secretary and office manager for 38 years. After retiring from GWHS, she worked for Video Filmtronics and substituted for Danville Public Schools and Transportation Department. She was campaign treasurer for Commonwealth Attorney Michael Newman. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church where she served on several committees. Her favorite past times were playing softball, exercising and talking on the phone with friends. She is survived by her husband Wayne of the residence, daughter Laura Anne Yeaman Collins and her husband Don, and grandchildren Greyson and Seth all of Greensboro, NC, her mother Clarice Hundley Price and stepfather Cliff Price of Danville. She is also survived by her aunt Annie Hudson, brother-in-law Ronald Yeaman and his wife Wanda of Chatham, VA as well as several cousins, a niece and nephews. We would like to thank the many friends of Judy, especially, the "Beach Gang" and the nurses and staff at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center for their love and support during her illness. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 31, 2014 at St. Luke's United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with the Reverend Tilden Bridges and Reverend Ron Mateer officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Thursday, January 30, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM and at other times at the residence. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Danville Cancer Association, 223 Riverview Drive, Suite J, Danville, VA 24541 or St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 3090 North Main Street, Danville, VA 24541.
