Joseph “Joey” Wayne Davis, 68, of 209 Wheatley Rd., Danville, VA, left for his heavenly home on September 6, 2017. He had been in declining health for the past three years. He was born in Danville, Virginia on December 28, 1948 to the late Joseph Scott Davis and Flossie Cassada Davis. He was predeceased by a brother, David Thomas Davis, a sister, Betty Sue Coleman, and by a son, Zane Thomas Davis. Joey is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Brenda Newman Davis. He is also survived by three sons, Vann Scott Davis of Perry, Georgia, Richard James Dryden and wife, Lindsey, and their three children, Hunter, Bryce, and Ryder of Bonaire, Georgia, and James Timothy Eanes and wife, Jennifer, of Providence, North Carolina. Joey attended Danville Public Schools and spent his entire life working in the construction business. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and play softball. Joey was a member of Grace Design United Methodist Church where he served as a trustee and on various other committees. The family will receive friends Friday, September 8, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Grace Design United Methodist Church, located at 1064 Franklin Turnpike. A celebration of life service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens.
