Mr. John Davis (Dave) Cole, age 67 died Friday, November 1, 2013 at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, NC from complications from heart surgery. Mr. Cole was born in Portsmouth, VA on September 3, 1946, a son of Erma Davis Cole of Danville and the late John Letcher Cole. Mr. Cole was retired from Export Leaf Tobacco Company as a supervisor. He was an active member of Woodberry Hills Baptist Church and was a graduate of Dan River High School. He and his family moved to Danville when he was two years old. Besides his Father Mr. Cole was predeceased by a brother, Tucker Cole. Besides his Mother he is survived a daughter; Alison Hall and her spouse Donnie Hall, grandson Cole Starling, his sisters, Jackie Soyars and Jean Adams, spouse Terry Adams, nieces, Terri Ann Adams and Amy Nash and Donnie. Also surviving are a special girlfriend of 20 years Libby Anderson and her son Jody Anderson, spouse Christy, sons Conner and Calab and Rhonda Turner, spouse Greg Turner and son Enzo. Also his loving dog Buddy, nephew Bryan Gibson and wife Tara, great-niece Mayzee and great nephew Cole of TX. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. from Woodberry Hills Baptist Church with the Reverend Richard Motley officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 to 8:30 P.M. and at other times will be at the residence of his sister, Jackie Soyars, 204 Brentwood Drive.
