Jean Orrell Brown, age 89, formally of Danville, Virginia, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2018, at Brookdale, Roanoke. Born on July 6, 1929, in Danville, Virginia, she was the daughter of Kent and Grace Orrell. She was married to James L. “Pete” Brown, who preceded her in death. She was a graduate of George Washington High School. Jean worked with her husband at Auto Parts & Glass Company for more than 40 years. She was a member of The Wednesday Club and a member of Mount Vernon Methodist Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Kathy Brown Laramore; brothers Wilson Orrell and Durwood Orrell. Jean is survived by one brother, Ronald Orrell and wife Mildred; sister-in-law, Peggie Taylor; daughter, Susan Brown Baggerly and husband, John; son-in-law, John Laramore and wife, Katherine; grandchildren, Stuart Laramore and wife, Kim, Jean Marie Laramore Ellis and husband, Ezra, Anne Baggerly, and Laura Baggerly Migliarese and husband, Greg; and five great-grandchildren, Anna Grace, Luke, Kathryn, Elizabeth, and Grey. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at 3 p.m. at Mountain View Cemetery with the Reverend Bart Fletcher officiating.
