James Mcgee

October 12, 1948 — February 13, 2017

James (Jimmy) Howard McGee, age 68, of 348 Gwynn’s Chapel Road, Pelham, NC died on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the Hospice of Rockingham County in Reidsville, NC.  He had been in declining health for the past two years.                 Jimmy was born in Danville on December 10, 1948, a son of the late Johnny Neal McGee, Sr. and Frances Helen Hudson McGee.                A member of Pelham United Methodist Church where he founded the United Methodist Men, he had served as an Usher and on other committees including the MYF.  Jimmy was a member of the Pelham Volunteer Fire Department with 20 years of service to his community.  He had retired from North Carolina Department of Transportation in Yanceyville.  Jimmy was also a farmer in the Pelham Community for many years.                On February 20, 1971 Jimmy married his high school sweetheart, Annie Sue Woody McGee of the home.  He is also survived by his children; David McGee and his wife Claudett, Susan M. Trost and her husband Lee and Ricky McGee and his wife Tammy all of the area, grandchildren; Erica Trost, Blake McGee, Koy McGee, Brandon Francis and Tambra Hall and her husband Andrew, great-grandchildren; Liam Hall and Ella Hall and one brother, Tommy McGee and his wife Elaine.                Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. from Pelham United Methodist Church with the Reverend Nathan Webb and Avery Marshall officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.                The family will receive friends at Pelham United Methodist Church on Thursday 16, 2017 from 6 to 8 P.M and at other times will be the residence, 348 Gywnn’s Chapel Road, Pelham, NC  27311.                The family request that in lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Pelham United Methodist Church 694 Red Marshall Road, Pelham, NC 27311 or Pelham Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 97, Pelham, NC  27311.                Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street, is serving the McGee family.
