James Clifford Lindley, 85, of Danville, Virginia, passed away on May 14, 2023.
James was born on January 7, 1938, a son of the late John Willis Lindley and Georganna Mae Woodruff Lindley. James attended Cecil High School in Cecil, PA. He served in the United States Navy and attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. James worked as a plant manager at Adelphia for 35 years. He enjoyed working at Townes Funeral Home in his retirement. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers Fan.
In 1963, He married Bernice Louise Bysick Lindley. They were married for 53 years when she went home to be with the Lord in 2016. James has now joined his loving wife in their new heavenly home.
James is survived by a son, Jim Lindley, and a daughter, Patti Walker; his grandchildren, Eric Wilson (Megan), Tanner James Lindley (Chloe), and Emily Brooke Walker; a great-grandchild, Xander Lindley; His number two daughter, Michelle Duncan; two adopted sons, Albert Parsons (Kelli), and Christopher Walling (Joanie); and a sister, Nancy Ann Lindley Cononge (Ed). He is also survived by his Cablevision Family.
In addition to his wife and parents, James is predeceased by a brother, John William Lindley.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with visitation being an hour prior. Interment will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be performed by the United States Navy. The family will receive friends at their residence, 100 Woodside Road, Danville, Virginia, 24540, following the interment.
