AAA group during World War II, stationed in England, France, Belgium and with the Allied push into Germany at the end of the war. After the war, he attended Randolph- Macon College before returning to Danville to begin his career at various banks in the city. Throughout his life, he was involved in civic, church and fraternal activities. In 1963, he was appointed to the Danville School Board, serving for 27 years, the last nine of which he was chairman. The pride he took in his family was quickly conveyed to friends and strangers and, of the latter, he knew very few. He saw each day as a blessing. He was proud of his country and loved his God. He lived a life rich in many ways. A celebration of his life will take place Monday, January 19 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of Trinity United Methodist Church, Arnett Blvd with the Reverend Charles Wickham officiating. The family will receive friends at Trinity at 10:00 AM before the service. A reception will be held in the church social hall after the service. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the Denny family requests donations to the charity of one's choice. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Denny family.
