Jacqueline "Jackie" Merchant Davis, 86, died Monday, June 22, 2015 in the Danville Regional Medical Center. She was born in Danville, VA, on July 11, 1928, a daughter of the late George T. Merchant and Georgianna Odell Merchant. She lived all of her life in Danville and was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Schoolfield High School and Campbell College. She was married to James Wade Davis who predeceased her in 1991. She was also predeceased by a son, Todd Wade Davis; four brothers; and four sisters. She is survived by a daughter, Kelly Jacqueline Davis; a grandson, Jacob Wade Davis, who was the joy of her life; a number of nieces and nephews; and her faithful caregivers, Wendy and Joan. A graveside service will be held Friday, June 26, 2015 at 11:00 AM, at Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Lee Ellison, the Reverend Steve Carlton and the Reverend Frank Fuller officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence 312 Hampton Drive.
