Jack S Sater, age 94, passed away February 14, 2017 at. Danville Regional Medical Center. Born in Memphis, TN on September 4, 1922 to Hyman Sater and Fanny Jaffa Sater, he is predeceased by his wife, Velma Hamlett Sater, four brothers and two sisters. Jack was a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Following the war he spent many years working with his brothers helping his customers "maintain that Sater's appearance". He is survived by son Scott Saternye (Paty) of Palmyra, VA and daughters Susan Hildreth (David) of Forest, VA and Sandra Wilson of Danville. Also surviving are grandchildren Laura Klump, Erin Parker, Ben Hildreth, James Lewis and Mark Hildreth as well as three beloved great-grandchildren, Ayden Samuels, Takoda Parker and Carter Hildreth. A graveside service will be held Friday, February 17 at 4pm at Green Hill Cemetery with Para-Rabbinic JoAnn Howard officiating. Military honors will be presented by the American Legion Dan River Post #1097 and the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7-8 pm at Townes Funeral Home and at other times at the residence, 450 Brightwell Dr. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to a charity of your choice.
