Jack Alexander

Jack Leslie Alexander, Sr. passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Danville Regional Hospital, Danville, VA. He was born on June 1, 1922, in Atlanta, GA, a son of the late Greer Alexander and Mary Horn Alexander. Jack was retired from AC Corporation in Greensboro, NC as a Vice President and was a member of Moseley Memorial United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a wife, Kitty Ray Richards Alexander and a daughter Judith A. Michael. He was also predeceased by his first wife Doris Hay Alexander. He is survived by his children, Drs. Corky Alexander and wife, Kimberly, and Jill A. Libramento and husband, Steaven, Bethany M. Nolan and husband, Tony, James M. McFarling and wife, Sylvia, Jennifer M. Page and Aldene Mabe, Sara M. Fulford and husband, Curtis; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and a half sister-in-law, Karen Richards Walker. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 24, 2017 at 11am at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Lisa Nordan officiating. A private burial will be held in Green Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be presented at the funeral home by the American Legion Dan River Post # 1097 and the United States Navy Honor Guard. The family will receive friends an hour before the funeral service on Friday. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street, is serving the Alexander family.
