Irvin "Bud" Daniel Everett, age 85, of Providence, NC, peacefully passed away on Friday, May 30, 2014 after a brief stay in Danville Regional Hospital and Roman Eagle Nursing Facility. He was born in Danville, Va. on May 29, 1929 to the late Robert Lee Everett and Ella Martin Everett. He is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Jean Murphy Everett, five children; Daniel M. Everett (Liz Everett), of Blanch, NC, Deborah E. Bernard, of Yanceyville, NC, R. Keith Everett (Cindi Everett), of Ruffin, NC, Nancy R. Titus, of Powder Springs, GA, and John M. Everett (Cindy Everett), of Danville, VA. Ten grandchildren; Lucas Bernard, Matthew Everett, Whitney Everett Duncan, Andrew Everett, Brittany Titus, Rachel Everett, Rebecca Everett, Lucy Everett, Jordan Titus, and Hayden Everett. Two great grandchildren; Grace Duncan and Elijah Bernard. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Earl Everett, Oliver Everett, Virginia McCormick, Robert Everett Jr., Nellie Warren, Mildred Thompson, and Clyde Everett. He was known as "Uncle Bud" to many nieces and nephews. He served proudly as a member of the F-Company 279th Infantry Regiment 45th Infantry Division in the Korean War. His awards include the Combat Infantryman's Badge, Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star, United Nations Service Medal, and the Japanese Occupation Medal. He retired from Danville Lumber Company after a 40 year career with the company. He continued his love of woodworking for many years until his decline in health. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, nurses, caregivers, and friends for their continued support. Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 2, 2014, at 2:00 pm at Providence Baptist Church in Providence, NC, with Rev. Lee Cook officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
