Hugh Miller

October 26, 1933 — December 2, 2014

It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our father "Sonny" on Feb. 12, 2014. He was born on Oct. 26, 1933 to Kemp and Nell Barnes Miller. He attended Brosville High School and Richmond Technical Institute. He worked as a construction manager overseeing various large projects on the East Coast, with particular pride the Dedmon Center at Radford University. He also owned Riverside Bldg Supply with his brother, Larry. He is survived by his daughter, Terry Lee Toler and husband Bennie, Daughter Mary Sue Miller, grandchildren Sonnie Miller Brown and Savannah Alley Childers, brother, Larry Miller,sister Joyce Tipton, and special friend Jim Pollard and devoted nephew Joe Riccio and wife Sue. He was predeceased by his wife Bettye Alley Miller. A celebration of life will be held on Sat. Feb 15, 2014 at 2 pm at Townes Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm prior to the service. At other times the family will be at 108 Walnut Rd. in lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to the AWLPOC or the Humane Society of your choice. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the Miller family.
