Harriet Newton Harper Haynsworth Harriet Newton Harper Haynsworth, 85, went to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, October 27th, 2012 at Danville Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. Born June 6, 1927, in Danville, Virginia, she was the daughter of Harriet Hylton Harper and Dr. Robert Newton Harper. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Charles Riley Haynsworth, Jr. and her sister, Marie Dillon Harper Laramore. Harriet was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder. Throughout her adult life, she was a constant witness for the grace and love through Jesus Christ and was a spiritual leader and mentor to many men and women of all ages in our community. Survivor include three daughters, Susan Haynsworth of Carolina Beach, NC, Martha Haynsworth Hamlin and her husband Lee of Richmond, VA, Harriet Haynsworth Beale and her husband Raymond of Danville; one son, Charles Riley Haynsworth, III and his wife Lynn of Danville. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Erin Beale Parris and her husband John of Danville, Kathryn Beale, of Brooklyn NY, Charles Riley Haynsworth, IV and his wife Stephanie of Danville, John Richard Haynsworth, IV and his wife Mary of Danville, and Molly Hamlin Duncan and her husband Bryan of Richmond, VA; three great-grandchildren, Madeline & Lyla Parris and Hailey Haynsworth. One brother-in-law, William H. Haynsworth also survives. A celebration of her life will be conducted at 2 pm, Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Allen Thompson, interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 29, 2012 from 6-8 pm at First Presbyterian Church Sanctuary and at other times at the residence of Harriet and Ray Beale, 129 Westmoreland Court.
