He leaves his wife of 62 years, Edith, three children, Donnie Reynolds (Debbie) of Winston-Salem, NC, Terry Reynolds (Cheryl) of Danville, VA, and Toni Bridges (Richard) of Stoneville, NC. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Amber Sykes (Kenny) of Richmond, VA, Brandon Reynolds (Mande) of Garner, NC, Devyn Bayes of Emory, VA, and Bryce Reynolds of Danville, VA. He was born in Caswell County, North Carolina, but spent most of his life in Danville, VA with his beloved wife and family. In 1998, he retired from Dan River Mills after a long career in the instrument shop. Harold proudly served his country from 1953-1955 in the United States Army as a Military Policeman. His status as a veteran defined much of his retirement age as he was an active member of American Legion Post 1097, where he took great pride in serving as Honor Guard Captain. Harold was honored there as the Honor Guard Member of the Year in 2002 and Legionnaire of the Year for 2006. Finally, he received the honor of being the Grand Marshall at the Danville Veteran's Day Parade in 2013. Upon his wishes, a graveside service will be held at Danville Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, September 2nd at 4pm. Military honors will be conducted. A visitation will precede the graveside service at Townes Funeral Home starting at 2:30pm. At other times the family will receive friends at the home.
