Harold Langston Baggerly, 82, of 131 Charles Towne Drive, passed away on Sunday morning, March 25, 2018. He was born in Danville, Va. on June 6, 1935, a son of the late John T. Baggerly and Cora Soyars Baggerly. Harold had a 44 year career as a long distance driver for several freight companies and retired from the ABF Freight Company. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fort Chiswell, Va., Gasden Masonic Lodge No. 236, Gasden, Ala. and Bland Chapter 41 Order of the Eastern Star, Bland, Va. He is survived by his wife, Irene S. Baggerly; two sons, James H. Baggerly (Rose) and William T. Baggerly (Christine); a daughter, Genine B. Thurman (Donnie); five grandchildren, Kristen Baggerly, Samantha Baggerly, Christopher Stapp, Natalie Stapp and Daniel Baggerly (Kim); and one great-grandchild, Ledger Baggerly. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 2 pm at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Bobby Thurman officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 to 2 pm at the funeral home and at other times will be at the residence.
