Geneva Carden

Geneva Mason Carden, age 92 died Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Sovah Health-Danville.  Before being admitted to the hospital she was a resident at Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for the past five years.                 Mrs. Carden was born in Bassett, VA on October 17, 1926, a daughter of the late Willie Lipscomb Mason and Maude Jarrett Mason.                A resident of Chatham for most of her life.  She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church.                 She married Harry Lee Carden on June 26, 1954.                Mrs. Carden was predeceased by her husband of fifty-nine years and is survived by her children, Susan Parker, Karen Crusberg (Keith), Lora Davis (Mike) and Sam Carden.  She is also survived by four grandchildren, Wesley, Clinton (Emily), Cole, and Haley and one great-grandson.                Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. from the Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Jon Woodburn officiating.  Interment will follow in Highland Burial Park.                The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour before the service.                In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any memorials be given to Oakland United Methodist Church, P.O.
