Freda Cousins Burton

Freda Cousins Burton, 80, of Danville, Virginia, passed away on January 28, 2025.

Freda was born on October 7, 1944, in Danville, VA, a daughter of the late Fred Holmes Cousins and Mary Elizabeth Walker Cousins. She worked as a registered nurse. Freda was a member of West End Christian Church. She was a passionate member and volunteer of the Danville Area Humane Society.

Freda is survived by her son, Douglas Wayne Burton, Jr., her daughters, Mary Burton Crane, and Jennifer Burton Brann (Randy), her grandchildren, Ryan Douglas Burton and Amy Crane Turner (Kirk), and a great-granddaughter, Hunter Ree Burton.

In addition to her parents, Freda is predeceased by her sister, Joan Cousins Schwarz.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Mountain View Cemetery, with the Rev. Darryl Joyce officiating.
