Frank Schoolfield Jordan of Danville, VA and Cashiers, NC passed away peacefully on June 15, 2013. She was the beloved wife of the late Matthew Pate Jordan and the daughter of the late John Harrell Schoolfield and Frank Hanes Schoolfield. Her sisters, Lizora Schoolfield Miller and Jane Schoolfield Tappero, also predeceased her. Frank was born in Danville, VA on December 16, 1915 and was educated at Oldfields School in Glencoe, MD and Gunston Hall in Washington, DC. She divided her time between Danville and her gracious home in Cashiers, "Jordan's Journey". Frank acquired a passion for golf from her father and, in the 1930's, was the first female to have a hole-in-one at the Danville Golf Club. She was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, The Colonial Dames of Virginia and a past member of The Wednesday Club, Garden Club of Danville and the Danville Museum of Fine Arts. Frank lived a long life full of joy, friendship and generosity. She was a great favorite of her nieces and nephews. Frank was a dear and loving aunt to Lizora Miller Yonce, of Boca Grande, FL, J. Clifford Miller III, of Sperryville, VA and R. Bryant Hare IV, of Raleigh, NC; great-aunt to S. McClay Yonce, Jr., Logan Hanes Yonce, Clifford Miller Yonce, J. Clifford Miller IV, Ransom Bryant Hare V, Laura Miller Meyers, Louise Schoolfield Hare, as well as to six great great nephews and nieces. Her family would like to thank Linda Johnson for all of her care and compassion. A private graveside service was held on Monday, June 17 in Green Hill Cemetery.
