Frances Pritchett Green, 91, of 12253 Mt. Cross Road, Dry Fork, Virginia, died March 23, 2015 at Danville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Green had been in declining health for the past six years. Born August 12, 1923, in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Annie Powell Pritchett. Mrs. Green graduated from Whitmell Farm Life School. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ruth Bible Class. She worked for 30 years for Dan River Mills, Inc. retiring in 1988 On November 7, 1942, she married P. D. Green, who passed away on July 5, 2014. Survivors include a son, Jerry D. Green and wife, Linda; daughter, Jane G. Payne and husband, Richard; three grandchildren, Phillip R. Green, Angela G. Morris and husband Mike, and Christy G. Lester and husband, Chris; four great grandchildren, Walker and Mikayla Morris and Delaney and Jackson Lester; two brothers, Roy Pritchett and wife, Goldie, and Everett Pritchett and wife Naomi; and two sisters-in-law, Vera G. Arnn and Nancy Pritchett. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Green was predeceased by a daughter, Joan M. Green; and brothers, Bennie Pritchett, Harry Pritchett, Charlie Pritchett, Howard Pritchett, Ray Pritchett and William Pritchett. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Charlie Ryan officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Townes Funeral Home and at other times at the residence 12253 Mt. Cross Road.
