Evelyn Williams

Evelyn Kerns Williams, 85, of Ringgold, VA, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 in Riverside Health Care Center.      She was born on November 30, 1931, in Sutherlin, VA a daughter of the late Stanley Martin Kerns and Margaret Slayton Kerns.      Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, Herbert Lee Williams on October 21, 2002.  She was also predeceased by two brothers, William G. Kerns and Maris V. Kerns; and a sister, Julia Kerns Taylor.      She was employed with Dan River, Inc. and later worked with her husband on their farm in Ringgold. She was a member of the Tabernacle.      Evelyn is survived by a sister, Ann Kerns Astin (Jim) of Danville; a brother, Stanley M. Kerns, Jr. (Ann) of Alton, VA; and a number of nieces and nephews.      Graveside services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Susan Hannah officiating.
