Eva Pyron

June 16, 1929 — April 18, 2024

Eva Bowling Pyron, 94 of 463 Granville Drive died April 18, 2024, at her residence. She was born June 16, 1929, in Franklin County, the daughter of Hiram and Beulah Bowling. Mrs. Pyron was educated in the Franklin County public schools, Radford College, and The Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated from the R.N. program in 1952 and worked as a staff nurse for 8 years except for one year in a doctor’s office. From 1961 to 1979 she was hired as a clinical instructor at The Hospital School of Nursing. From 1979 until 1994, when she retired, was a Health Occupations instructor at the Pittsylvania Vocational Center. She established the certified nursing assistance program.

Mrs. Pyron was married to Claude S. Pyron Jr., who died November 8, 1990. She was a member of Mosley Memorial United Methodist Church and the Suzanna Wesley Class.

She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Michael and Sandra Pyron, Lakeland Florida, a daughter and son in law, Sylvia and Tripp McFarling, a son, Paul Pyron of Danville VA, and five granddaughters. In addition, she is survived by a brother Hosea Bowling of Ferrum VA.

Eva is predeceased by her sister Diamond Boyd and husband Lane of Ferrum VA, brother Herbert Bowling and wife Zilphia of Rocky Mount VA.

The funeral Service will be held Tuesday April 23, 2024, 2:00PM at Townes Memorial Chapel with Reverend Timothy Barth officiating. The interment will be at Danville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour before the funeral service and at other times at the residence of her daughter, Sylvia McFarling, 113 Doves Circle.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Luke’s United Methodist Church.
