Erica Nicole Mann, 38, of 304 Dogwood Drive, Danville, passed peacefully from this world to her heavenly home on April 16, 2019, at Hospice of the Piedmont in Charlottesville, Virginia. She was born in Danville, Virginia, on June 20, 1980, the daughter of Gary and Debbie Mann and was the joy of their lives. She attended Danville Public Schools and was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where her beautiful singing voice resonated throughout the sanctuary. Some of her true loves were attending Sunday church services, Wednesday night prayer services, and choir practices. Her ability to sing almost any hymn without the use of a hymnal was truly amazing. George Washington High School basketball and football programs had no bigger fan than Erica. Talking nightly on the phone and staying overnight with her dear friend and “prayer warrior”, Peggy, were some of the best times of her life. She loved eating crab legs and attending the Carolina Opry shows on family trips to Myrtle Beach. She loved people with an unbiased and unconditional love, and her smile and contagious laugh filled a room. Erica had previously been employed with Goodwill Industries and was currently employed at Epiphany Episcopal School where she was referred to as “Miss Erica”. She enjoyed the volunteer work she did at God’s Storehouse on Thursday afternoons. In addition to her father and mother, she is survived by her brother Matthew, her nephew Brooks, her maternal grandmother Lugene Wright of Reidsville, N.C., and a large extended family. She was predeceased in death by her paternal grandparents Ralph and Mary Anne Mann and her maternal grandfather Allen Wright. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 416 Edgewood Drive, Danville VA on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 2:00 P.M with the Reverend Rick Markham officiating. Family visitation will be held on at Calvary Baptist Church on Friday, April 19, 2019 from 7 to 8:30 P.M. At other times the family will be at the residence 304 Dogwood Drive. The family would like to thank the staff of the MICU of UVA Medical Center as well as the caregivers at Hospice of the Piedmont Charlottesville for their exceptional care of Erica. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Calvary Baptist Church‘s music department, 416 Edgewood Drive. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street, is assisting the family during this time. Online condolences may be directed to www.townesfuneralhome.com.
