Elizabeth "Sharon" Gluhareff of 3300 Westover Drive died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at the Danville Regional Medical Center after a recent decline in health. Sharon was born in Smithers, WV on July 16, 1943, a daughter of the late Charles L. Ballard and Virginia L. Perdue Ballard. Surviving are her sons; Jonathan R. Gluhareff (Brandy) of South Boston and David L. Gluhareff of Danville, siblings; Charles K. Ballard (Sharon) of St. Petersburg, FL, Kathy Ballard Cropp (Jim) of Danville, sisters-in-law Shirley Gluhareff Madkins (Larry) of Sun City West, AZ and Ruth Gluhareff Pianolto (Bobby) of Tontitown, AR. She is survived by grandsons; Jordan Hunter, Dylan Lee and Matthew Robert Gluhareff, eight nieces and nephews and a great-niece and a great-nephew. She was predeceased by her husband Robert S. Gluhareff, her parents, Charles and Virginia Ballard. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Reverend Larry Davis officiating. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at the Arbor Baptist Church cemetery in Sutherlin, for family and friends where she had been a member for many years. The family will receive friends at Townes Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26th from 7:00pm to 8:30 and at other times will be at the residence of her sister, Kathy Ballard Cropp (Jim), 162 College Avenue. The family request that memorials be directed to Arbor Baptist Church, 15120 River Road, Sutherlin, VA 24594 and/or the Helping Hands ministry at the church. Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Gluhareff family.
