Effie Oskey

Effie Jean Williamson Oskey, age 74 died July 1, 2019 at Sovah Health of Danville after a decline in health.                Mrs. Oskey was born in Goldstone, NC on April 13, 1945.  She was the daughter of the late Herbert Baxter Williamson and Clora Maness Williamson.                She was married to the late John Russell “Rusty” Oskey III.  Mrs. Oskey retired from Dan River, Inc. working in 4A-Dress.                Besides her parents and her husband Mrs. Oskey was predeceased by a son Phillip Jason Oskey,  brothers, James Williamson, Clinton Williamson, Eli Williamson, Johnny Williamson and Howard Williamson, and grandson Davey Eanes.                Surviving are her children, Eva Marie McGregor of Danville and Rusty Oskey IV of Danville. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and one sister Mildred Wilson.                A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. from Townes Memorial Chapel.                The family will receive friends at her sister’s residence, 520 Ferry Road.                Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Oskey family.  Online condolences may be directed to www.townesfuneralhome.com.
