Edith Grace Martin Reynolds, 88, returned home to her Father in Heaven Monday afternoon, August 19, 2019, following several years of declining health. She is survived by her three children, Donnie Reynolds (Debbie) of Winston-Salem, N.C., Terry Reynolds (Cheryl) of Danville, Va., and Toni Bridges (Richard) of Stoneville, N.C. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Amber Sykes (Kenny) of Midlothian, Va., Brandon Reynolds (Mande) of Garner, N.C., Devyn Bayes of Jefferson City, Tenn., and Bryce Reynolds of Danville, Va. She has three great-grandchildren, Ellie and Luke Sykes, Taft Reynolds and one more on the way. She also has numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Harold M. Reynolds; parents, Virgil Nuel Martin and Grace Wyrick Martin; two sisters, Ila West and Pauline Collins; and three brothers, Grady, Neal, and Donald Martin. She was born in the Mt. Hermon Community of Pittsylvania County on December 12, 1930, but spent most of her life in Danville, Va. with her beloved husband and family. Mrs. Reynolds retired from Dan River Mills after a long career in the Piece Goods department. She was a devoted wife, mother and nanny. Always there for her children and grandchildren and ready to go on a moment’s notice to be with them. A graveside service will be held at Danville Memorial Gardens on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 4 p.m. A visitation will precede the graveside service at Townes Funeral Home starting at 2:30 p.m. At other times the family will receive friends at the home. A special thanks to four devoted caregivers who have been by her side for the last 4 years.
