Edgar Arnold Booth, age 81, passed away peacefully after battling Dementia/Alzheimers on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at SOVAH Health Danville Hospital in Virginia. He was born on August 7th, 1937, in Danville, VA to Dorothy Giles Booth and Albert Edgar Booth. He married Chantal Bette on February 23, 1977, and was a very loving and devoted husband. He was a 20 year Veteran in the United States Army and loved serving his country. He was a tobacco farmer, enjoyed listening to Bluegrass and country music, enjoyed watching westerns, wrestling and Nascar. He loved spending time with his many grandchildren. He had a special bond with his many cats, dogs, and farm animals. He is survived by his children, Deborah B. Murray (John), Son-in-Law Robert Wilson, and Janet Hormess (Manfred); grandchildren, Mark E. Young, II (Kari), Blake A. Young, Christina N. Boyer (Abram), Robert Wilson, Jr., Thomas Wilson, Caitlyn Wilson, Sarah Hormess, Daniel Hormess, Selina Hormess, and Jonas Hormess; as well as many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Dorothy Giles Booth and Albert Edgar Booth; his wife, Chantal Bette Booth; as well as a daughter, Petra Wilson. The funeral service will be at Townes Memorial Chapel, 215 W. Main Street, Danville, VA 24541, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2019, with visitation from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service and at other times at the residence, 143 Pruitt Road, Pelham, NC 27311. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Gardens, 510 Church Avenue, Danville, VA 24541. Donations in Edgar's name may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
