Dorothy Thompson Millner, 93, of 308 Dogwood Drive, passed away on Wednesday, March 04, 2015 in the Roman Eagle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. She had been in declining health for the past 6 years. She was born in Danville, Va. on July 24, 1921, a daughter of the late Raleigh Carter Thompson and Josie Fitzgerald Thompson. Dorothy was married to Clarence Franklin Millner who passed away on March 10, 1993. She was a bookkeeper for Thompson Shoe Store until 1980. Dorothy was a member of the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Clarence F. "Bud" Millner, Jr. and his wife Gwen of Danville; two grandchildren, Elizabeth Millner Scearce of Reidsville, N.C. and Frank Davis of Madison, Miss.; and two great-grandchildren, Brandon Scearce and Spence Davis. Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m. in Leemont Cemetery with the Reverend Barry Foster officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence of Bud and Gwen Millner, 308 Dogwood Drive on Thursday, March 5, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
