Doris Gray Hyman, 100, went to be with our Heavenly Father on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ruben Osborne and her second husband, Willard Walker. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and is survived by two nephews, William Hertford Hyman, of Danville and Joseph Henry Hyman, of Midlothian, Virginia; four great nephews, Scott, Jeff, Heath, and Jeremy; eight great-great nephews, Chris, Tristan, and Jett; and five great-great nieces, Michelle, Madelynn, Aishlin, Mia, and Peyton. Doris was born in Pitt County, North Carolina but spent most of her adult life in Danville, where she was employed by Dan River Mills. She was a member of the Riverview Baptist Church. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center for the care given to Aunt Doris during her extended stay at the facility, with special thanks to Ella Wilkins for the love and special kindnesses shown to her over the years. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM, Thursday night, August 17, 2017 at Townes Funeral Home, 215 West Main Street, Danville, Virginia. Funeral services will be held at Townes Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens, 510 Church Avenue, Danville, Virginia.
