Diane Bernstein

Diane Bernstein passed away on Friday, May 11, 2018 at the age of 90, after a life filled with joy and adventures.                She traveled extensively with her husband of 67 years, the late Leonard Bernstein, including a two-year sailing voyage.  Born and raised in the Bronx, she also loved live performances, modern art, and New York Times crossword puzzles, which she completed expertly.                Diane is survived by her daughter, Dr. Jonna Bernstein and her husband, Geoge Condon, Jr.; by her son, Steven Bernstein and his wife, Dr. Elyse Levine Bernstein; and her grandchildren, Matthew, Adam, and Jeremy Davidson, and Jonathan and Maya Bernstein.                Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. from Townes Memorial Chapel in Danville, VA.                In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Diane’s favorite charities, United Spinal Association (unitedspinal.org) or Smile Train (smiletrain.org).                Townes Funeral Home and Crematory, 215 West Main Street is serving the Bernstein family.
