Delma Smith

Delma Murphy Smith of 2557 Wilkerson Road in Ringgold, VA passed away at the age of 91 on February 28, 2018. She was born August 20, 1926 in Pittsylvania County to the late K.S. Murphy Sr. and Sadie Murphy.    Prior to becoming a homemaker, she was briefly employed by Dan River Mills and the U.S. Post Office.    She is survived by her daughter Diane Cassada, brothers Jimmy and Curtis Murphy, and grandchildren John, Carol, and David. She was predeceased by husband Calvin F. Smith, brother Billy Murphy, and sister Shirley Franklin of Greensboro, NC.    A graveside service will be conducted on March 3, 2018 at 2 pm at Highland Burial Park by the Reverend Duane Caldwell. The family will accept visitors at their residence 2557 Wilkerson Road.    In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ringgold Fire Department or a charity of your choice.
