Colette Dawn Lollis, 62, of Danville, VA, passed away at her home on Friday, February 24, 2023. Colette was born June 20, 1960, to Ronald and Carrol Lollis, the second of four children. Throughout her lifetime, Colette enjoyed traveling, making it a part of her job in the entertainment industry. Growing up, she loved horses and rode as often as she could, even asking for a horse instead of a car for her sixteenth birthday. (Yes, she got it!) Colette also enjoyed football and was an avid fan of the Dolphins. She was always up for a friendly, dollar bet when her dad's or siblings' teams were playing against the Dolphins. She loved fishing, playing board games, card games, and cooking. She loved Harleys, art, crafting, painting children's faces, and making people happy. She was talented in so many ways.
Colette was a huge supporter of animal rescue, especially dogs and horses. She was always giving whatever she could to help, whether it was financially or with her time or other type donation. She also donated time and effort to other civic and charitable organizations, both locally and nationally. Colette loved her church and the people in it. She was also a huge fan of KISS, Melissa Etheridge, Elvis, and Aerosmith.
Colette was always a great caregiver for her family members when they were sick or infirm. Her love for her family was tremendous and she would do anything for them she could. They say your heart is as big as your fist, but Colette's was the size of a mountain.
Colette is survived by both parents, as well as her three siblings, Anita Carbah (Ray), Daron Lollis (Betty), and Tammy Whitacre (Hal). Survivors also include 10 nieces and nephews and 21 great nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved to spoil. She leaves behind her special companions, Ciarra, Karma, and Tikibird, who will miss her dearly.
A memorial service will be held at Townes Funeral Home on Friday, March 3, 2023, 2:00PM with visitation at 1:00PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send a monetary donation to your favorite animal rescue or shelter.
