Clara Bowman died at SOVAH Danville on February 22, 2022. Born in Danville on February 4, 1929, Clara was the daughter of Carl and Lura Wimmer. She was 93 wonderful years old and she was something else! Clara was a sweet, kind, compassionate daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Godfrey, 8 brothers, 2 sisters and great grandson, Noah. She is survived by her daughter Vickie Jones (Robert Q), her son Garry Bowman (Anne), grandson Rob Jones (Ashley), granddaughter Hilary Dredla (Russ), grandson Gordon Bowman, great granddaughters Ruby Jones, Hope Dredla, and great grandsons Evan Dredla, Turner Jones, and Joel Dredla. She was a beloved aunt to 18 nieces and nephews. Clara was a devout Christian and a long standing member of College Park Baptist Church. She was well loved. Her family remembers her as always being the best dressed woman in the room and oh so special! Visitation will be at Townes Funeral Home on Saturday February 26, 2022 from 12:30-1:30pm. A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm at Highland Burial Park with Reverend Gary Tucker officiating. Townes Funeral Home, 215 West Main Street, is serving the Bowman family.
